A detail of the trap. Two grains of corn hold the trigger stick under a forked stick. The bird will eat the corn, freeing the small stick, releasing the line which is under tension. It will glide from the four sticks and grab the leg or neck of the bird. (A long stick not shown here is bent and pulls the rope up when the trigger is released)
